East to West Missions

Thank you for your interest in an East to West Missions grant. Mission work is a wonderful and fulfilling way to serve God and your fellow man. The rewards you receive will remain in your heart for a very long time and you may even look at life in general in a different way.

Being a missionary is not easy nor is it meant to be a "free" vacation. It involves preparation, work, and sacrifice even before the actual trip begins.

An East to West Missions grant is not "free money" either. It's purpose is to assist you by reducing the cost of your trip and freeing up funds for some of your other expenses. To be considered for one of our grants you must first " Do Your Part".

Doing your part involves three main areas:

Participating in fundraising events - These events help to build camaraderie and closeness in a team, two things that are very important for a mission trip to be successful.
Allowing family and friends to assist you prayerfully and financially. This is generally accomplished by sending letters to them explaining the details and costs of your trip and asking for their prayers and financial support. This allows others to be a part of the mission experience by being "senders". Your "senders" will become an important part of your mission trip. You'll know that they will be praying for you wherever you may be.
Utilizing other means of financial support such as your church and civic organizations. Often times organizations such as these will be very willing to assist you. Upon returning from your trip you may wish to show your appreciation by giving a presentation about your trip.

The maximum amount of an East to West Missions grant is $400.00. and is forwarded to your church or mission organization in your name. It is generally better to "Do Your Part" as early as you can as time seems to go quickly when preparing for a mission trip. Application are required to be submitted at least 45 days prior to your departure to allow time for processing and dispersal of grants.

Since the East to West Mission budget is limited and the needs around the world are so great, we encourage applicants to fund their trips as much as possible by raising support from friends, family, personal funds, and fundraising activities, thereby giving others the opportunity to share in the mission experience.

Where are your sources of funding?
East to West Missions Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation and receives funds from various sources including private individuals, churches, grants, businesses,and other mission minded organizations.

Final determination of the amount of assistance shall be at the sole discretion of the Director and/or the Board of Directors of East to West Missions.

To be considered for financial assistance applicant must share in the core values of East to West Missions.
